Project: This 7 part series features interviews with scientists from across the country, and it is targeted towards graduate students considering academic careers at smaller universities. I created it for James Madison University and Research Corporation for Science Advancement.

Even though the audience for this video is somewhat limited, I wanted to showcase the personalities of the scientists, and capture them working in their research labs. I paired those visuals with clean, synth-heavy music to keep things moving, and graphics resting on laboratory equipment to keep everything on-theme.

Project: This 8-part series is the culmination of almost two years of work. I filmed over a dozen interviews, traveled across the country, and spent countless hours on the construction site documenting Ellsworth Kelly’s Austin. The series examines each of the primary building materials, provides information about the artist, and adds context for understanding his influences.

Eleanore Mikus' "Tablet 164" (1967-68), currently on view in the Blanton Museum of Art, is part of a series of monochromatic paintings she called "Tablets;" vigorously demanding works that were created through experimenting with wood, canvas and fiberglass. Filmed at her home in May 2017, Eleanore Mikus discussed her work and process with Kara Carmack (Andrew W.

Project: I was very fortunate to interview artist Eleanore Mikus at her home/studio about three months before she passed away. This interview is the only existing footage of her talking about her process, and her thoughts on her legacy.
I created every aspect of this video. Eleanore had a very warm personality, so I wanted to highlight that to give people a sense of what she was like. I staged the interview in the middle of her studio, and I used long cuts of her talking to showcase the artist in her element. I used footage of Tablet 164 hanging in the Blanton to focus the general talk about her process on the specific piece.

Art of the Book is a new collaboration between Austin's Blanton Museum of Art, and local favorite, BookPeople. The program invites students to meet and interact with authors and illustrators before exploring literacy themes in the galleries. This year 2017, we were thrilled to host Javaka Steptoe, author of Radiant Child: The story of young artist Jean Michel Basquiat.

Project: Art of the Book is a video series I helped create at the Blanton Museum of Art that features a Caldecott Award winning illustrator interacting with kids and touring the museum. This series is a model partnership for book publishers looking to do something more interactive on their tours.
I created the entire video from start to finish. I wanted to highlight specifically what Javaka said about the role museums play in his creative process. I also commissioned a student at the University of Texas to compose original music for this project.

Project: In January, 2017 The Blanton Museum of Art installed Thomas Glassford's "Siphonophora" in its atrium. This interview was filmed during the 3-day process of assembling and hanging the sculpture.

I started filming on this project my second week at the Blanton, and although they never used this video to promote the opening of the sculpture, I think it’s a great little explainer about the piece.
